Apply →East Coast Showdown is partnering with Sakhi for South Asian Women this year. We aspire to spread cultural awareness through a medium where Bhangra and Garba-Raas are performed and celebrated, and we're just as committed to giving back to the South Asian community.
Sakhi is a nonprofit whose mission is to represent the South Asian diaspora in a survivor-led movement for gender justice, honoring the collective and inherent power of all survivors of violence. They serve survivors through a combination of efforts including, but not limited to, direct services, advocacy and organizing, technical assistance, and community outreach.
Over the past six years, ECS has donated more than $10,000 to South Asian charities. This upcoming year, we're committing 100% of our proceeds (the net total after operating expenses) to Sakhi's mission.
