East Coast Showdown is a South Asian dance competition featuring two different traditional Indian dance forms: Bhangra and Garba-Raas. East Coast Showdown was founded in 2017 with the purpose of providing a platform for spreading the rich and vibrant culture of South Asia. Along with giving students the opportunity to show their passion for the performing arts, we believe in giving back to our community and are therefore associated with the charitable non-profit Pratham USA. In our second year, we successfully hosted 16 Bhangra and Garba-Raas teams from across North America including Canada, Florida, New York, Georgia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington and of course, Virginia! Entering our third year as a competition, we are excited to host 16 Bhangra and Garba-Raas teams once again in our beautiful home of Charlottesville, VA!
